A Solihull business park is now at full capacity after three local businesses snapped up the final lease agreements at its light industrial units.
The Woodside Industrial Estate in Kingshurst, is now fully let with a wide range of SMEs calling it home after support from Solihull Council.
West Midlands-based commercial property agent Shepherd Commercial was instructed in spring 2024 to bring the site to full occupancy after the council conducted a major business diagnostics and interior refurbishment.
The development now comprises a wide range of SMEs with AR Quinn electrical contractors, Cameron Construction and CRDH Electrical taking up residence at the three remaining 412 sq ft units.
Businesses at the site benefit from free SME support from Solihull Council, which can include a tailored package that help them grow, adopt digital technologies, transition to new supply chains, and access funding opportunities. The recent refurbishment is part of a concerted effort from the local authority to provide industrial space for a growing number of small business owners.
The estate provides gated entrances, with allocated parking and a convenient location near the M6 and M42.
Kaine Arkinson, managing director at Shepherd Commercial, said interest in the units had been enormous, with the appetite for flexible space for SMEs continuing to grow.
He said: “Once we brought the sites to market, we were inundated with offers and have finally completed the lettings of all units this month after an in-depth diagnostic process that the council carried out.
“The work the council has done to enable this scheme to reach its potential and pose an attractive choice for businesses has been fantastic.
“Competitive pricing and a real appetite for light industrial space in the area meant these opportunities were snapped up very quickly, and it’s fantastic to see a thriving business community at Woodside.”
Cllr Ian Courts, Deputy Leader of Solihull Council and Cabinet Member for Managed Growth, said: “Small and medium-sized enterprises are the backbone of our local economy, driving growth, innovation, and job creation across Solihull.
“The success of Woodside Industrial Estate is a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit of our local businesses and the commitment of Solihull Council to supporting them.
“By ensuring high-quality industrial space is available and providing tailored SME support, we are helping businesses thrive, adapt to new challenges, and seize new opportunities. It’s fantastic to see Woodside at full capacity, further strengthening our business community and local economy.
“Our three latest tenants join a host of fantastic established Solihull SMEs already operating out of Woodside Industrial Estate, including All Seasons Refurbishment Ltd, The Window Cleaning Group, M&L Designers Ltd and a Sole Trader.”
