Cardiff design company wins national marketing award for Richard Parks campaign

Limegreentangerine, a Cardiff-based branding, design and digital agency, has won a prestigious national marketing award in recognition of its outstanding work on a recent campaign.

Limegreentangerine was declared the winner of the SME category, for their work on the Richard Parks 737 Challenge, at the Chartered Institute of Marketing Excellence Awards at Grosvenor House, London last week.

The Chartered Institute of Marketing’s Marketing Excellence Awards celebrate the best marketing achievements across various industry sectors, recognising campaigns that have delivered real business benefits. Other winning campaigns at this year’s awards included Lloyds TSB, NHS and Marks & Spencer.

Judges applauded Limegreentangerine’s campaign for its wide use of channels, the £2.1million worth of media coverage it achieved and its ability to inspire others to undertake their own fundraising.

Beverley Rees, co-founder and director of Limegreentangerine said: “From the beginning the 737 Challenge has been a very special campaign and we are immensely proud of the work that went into it and all that we have achieved.”

This is the latest in a string of awards for Limegreentangerine and their work on the 737 Challenge. They have also won a Cardiff Design Festival Award for the best campaign and a CIM Canmol Wales Marketing Award 2012.

Fellow co-founder and director, Andy Rees, added: “This campaign is testament to what can be achieved by a small, talented team, even on a limited budget, and it shows that being a small, Welsh firm doesn’t have to limit a business’ success. We hope to use this award to demonstrate our credentials and allow us to go on producing top quality work for our wide variety of clients.”

Limegreentangerine was established by Andy and Beverley in 2002. The agency now creates brands and websites for SMEs in the private and public sector across Wales and the UK.

Richard Parks, who is currently competing in the world’s highest mountain bike race in Nepal added: “It was awesome to hear such amazing news from the 737 Challenge team back home. Of all the achievements from the 737 Challenge, the thing that I am most proud of is what a small team of hard working, talented and passionate volunteers has achieved and this is just reward for my incredible 737 Challenge team.”

In July 2011 Richard Parks made history with his 737 Challenge, becoming the first person to stand on the seven continental summits and all three poles (the South Pole, the geographic North Pole and the summit of Everest) in seven months.
