Robert Hitchins brings new warehouse to market in Stonehouse, Stroud

Developer Robert Hitchins has brought to market a new 22,523 sq ft industrial unit, for sale or to let in Stonehouse, near Stroud.

More than 30 commercial property agents from the region attended an opening event at Stroudwater 13 to view Unit 1 – Robert Hitchins’ latest industrial development in Stonehouse.

The visit included a tour of neighbouring Unit 2, a 53,500 sq ft hi-tech warehouse recently developed by Robert Hitchins exclusively for pharmaceutical company Greiner GBO.

Michael Plimmer, Senior Development Manager at Robert Hitchins, was pleased to showcase the new multi-million pound development.

“We are confident that there will be a lot of interest in Unit 1 given that there is so little quality industrial accommodation available in Gloucestershire. New opportunities like these are few and far between,” he said.

“Not only is the warehouse modern and highly prominent, it benefits from sustainability features including 15% roof lights and EV car parking spaces all within a self-contained plot with a very generous car park and yard.”

Unit 1 has planning consent uses for E(g), B2 and B8. It is close to J13 of the M5 and adjoins Stroudwater Business Park occupied by multinational companies including Renishaw, Schlumberger and Muller.

The agents for Unit 1 are Alder King and Cushman & Wakefield.

Adrian Rowley from Alder King said: “Unit 1 is terrific space and it’s good to see the scheme come to fruition. What we have here is a speculatively-built unit in a market starved of new stock. It also has the flexibility of being available for purchase or to let.”

Henry de Teissier from Cushman & Wakefield added: “It’s fantastic to be launching much-needed warehouse/manufacturing space to the market. There is a distinct lack of new-build units of this size on the M5 corridor, particularly freeholds. Stonehouse is a well-established industrial location, home to a number of local and multi-national companies. Unit 1 offers best-in-class space for those businesses looking to expand or relocate.”

Unit 1 forms part of the employment allocation for the wider Great Oldbury urban extension development at Stonehouse which also includes 1,300 homes, a primary school, local centre and extensive sports and community facilities.
