Water Orton industrial park full as acoustics manufacturer moves in

A Birmingham industrial park is now fully let following the relocation of a leading supplier of acoustic and noise reduction equipment, commercial property consultancy Johnson Fellows has announced.

Shush UK – whose customers include KFC, Premier Inn, Brewer’s Fayre and JD Wetherspoons – has agreed a long lease on a 13,018 sq ft manufacturing unit at Lakeside Industrial Park, Marsh Lane, Water Orton.

Richard Bache, agency partner at Birmingham-based Johnson Fellows, who acted on behalf of the landlord Flexdart Ltd, said Shush UK had relocated from its base at Mackadown Lane in Garretts Green.

“This is the start of an exciting new era for Shush UK as it moves to its new premises at Lakeside Industrial Park. It has excellent road connections, being very close to junction nine of the M42 and junction of the M6 and provides the company with an excellent new base from which to do business.”

Dave Robinson, founder and managing director of Shush UK, said: “We were keen to relocate because we had two adjoining units, which wasn’t ideal, and the rent was rising. Richard at Johnson Fellows did a great job in securing this unit for us and it is much better now that we are all under one roof.”

The accommodation includes an 8,426 sq ft workshop, 3,307 sq ft of two-storey office space, and a 1,285 sq ft mezzanine.

Shush UK’s kitchen ventilation division has over 30 years’ experience serving the catering industry, building a reputable relationship with major clients such as Greene King, Whitbread, The Restaurant Group and more. Within its manufacturing facility it also has the capabilities of manufacturing bespoke stainless-steel fabrications including wall benches, cupboards, service spines and more. The company also manufactures and supplies circular, rectangular silencers and other acoustic products and attenuation solutions to the building industry.
