Nottingham partner announced as seven step up at Nelsons

L to R: Carolle White; Kieron Crowther; Paula Haverkamp; Liam Wilkinson; Karen Salt; Graham Richardson

Leading Nottingham law firm Nelsons has promoted seven employees across a range of legal departments and its management team.

Commercial property specialist Kieron Crowther has been promoted to partner from legal director, having qualified as a solicitor in 2002 and joining the firm in 2019.

Kieron has a wealth of experience in land acquisition and disposal as well as commercial developments. He has more recently been providing expertise in commercial renewable energy and development work.

Kieron said: “After just four years at Nelsons, it’s a significant accomplishment to be made a partner and feels like validation for the investment I’ve made in my place within the commercial property team. The firm has shown it wants to invest in its employees and for me, the feeling is reciprocal, and I just want to keep on delivering for the team.

“I have recently been working in the energy side of development work, looking at renewable schemes and how to best support clients. It’s an increasingly large opportunity for us and another string to our bow of specialisms, so I’m excited to be driving that forward.”

Solicitors Liam Wilkinson and Carolle White have been promoted to legal directors while Paula Haverkamp and Karen Salt have become senior associates.

Liam joined the commercial property team as a senior associate in 2021 and has expertise in land acquisitions and disposals, landlord and tenant matters and commercial auctions. Carolle, who joined Nelsons in 2017 and is a chartered legal executive, specialises in complex medical negligence cases and inquests, including pregnancy and birth injury claims.

Dispute resolution specialist Paula Haverkamp has been at the firm for more than 20 years, advising on a range of property disputes and residential landlord and tenant matters. Karen Salt joined Nelsons in 2014 and has been part of the firm’s wills and probate department since 2018, advising on wills, inheritance tax planning, administration of estates and powers of attorney.

Rounding off the promotions in Nottingham are Graham Richardson, who is now legal accounts manager, and Elise-Marie Storer, who has moved into the role of learning and development specialist.

Graham joined the legal accounts team in 2018 and last year won the ‘Can-Do Award’ at the Nelsons’ awards for his consistently positive attitude, responsiveness and willingness to help.

Former HR advisor Elise-Marie has shown great success in designing and delivering internal soft skills courses including equality, diversity and inclusion along with menopause awareness. She will now focus on the continuous personal and professional development of employees.

Stewart Vandermark, chief executive at Nelsons, said: “It is fantastic to announce so many well-deserved promotions and I would like to congratulate everyone on their achievements. At Nelsons we strive to recognise the expertise within specific roles, but also the commitment to living out the firm’s values and behaviours.

“These promotions are also testament to each individual’s dedication to their wider team as well as their clients, in their respective areas of expertise.”

Nelsons is currently marking its 40th anniversary, and earlier this year announced it would be joining the Lawfront group, helping to drive forward the firm’s bold vision and growth strategy.
