Recycling firm announces £7million move to Winsford

Acting on behalf of Pitalia and Harlex, acting as project manager, Legat Owen and JLL have signed up 99P Recycling to a newly refurbished 43,000 sq ft unit on a site of four acres at Winsford Industrial Estate on a 10-year lease.

99P Recycling has been trading in the UK for the last 10 years acting as an Ecological Service Platform for plastics recycling and exporting from the U.K. to the Far East. This new facility will create 30 new employment positions and £7million is being invested in the project.

Pitalia purchased the three units comprising a total 250,000 sq ft in December 2021 from Henkel UK Operations and has since undertaken a comprehensive refurbishment programme on two of the unoccupied units. Unit 3, measuring 80,000 sq ft was leased back to Henkel on a five-year term. This latest deal to 99p Recycling leaves MC2, comprising 60,634 sq ft high quality industrial and office space available on a leasehold basis.

Speaking about the new site, Paul Nolan, director at Nolan Redshaw, who advised 99P, commented: “99P has committed to a new state-of-the-art low density polyethylene film recycling plant in Winsford to enable large quantities to be recycled in the U.K. and reused. Winsford Industrial Estate is the UK’s first Green Business Park and is therefore the perfect home for an environmentally conscious business, such as 99p.”

Matt Pochin, director at Legat Owen, continued: “Winsford Industrial Estate is attracting major manufacturers and distribution businesses that see Winsford as an excellent alternative to more costly locations. The low density site and sizeable yard has attracted occupiers, like 99P, who are struggling to find good external areas. We have also had a high level of interest in the last remaining unit, which is reflecting the continued pressure on stock levels for quality industrial space.”
