Burley Browne property management team scores hat-trick

West Midlands commercial property consultancy Burley Browne is celebrating scoring a hat-trick of new property management instructions.

The appointments to manage retail, office and industrial property portfolios in north Birmingham and Staffordshire brings Burley Browne’s property management rent role to more than £3 million per year.

An existing client has instructed the company on a substantial portfolio of around 20 properties with a rent role of over £600,000. It includes office and retail premises in Walsall, Lichfield, and Tamworth, along with an industrial estate in Brownhills.

In Walmley, Sutton Coldfield, Burley Browne has been appointed by a new client to manage a parade of eight retail units and 12 long leasehold apartments at Berkeley House. While in Tamworth and Lichfield city centre, a private landlord has instructed the company to manage a portfolio of 10 retail units.

Burley Browne will be providing a full property management service including rent and service charge collection on all three portfolios whilst also advising on asset management, acquisitions, disposals and landlord and tenant matters.

The property management team has been bolstered by the recent arrival of Katie Mills, who joins with several years’ experience from Bond Wolfe where she oversaw the management of similar mixed use portfolios.

James Merrick, joint managing director of Burley Browne and head of professional services, said: “We launched our property management division under three years ago with a significant investment in new software, and we have enjoyed steady growth to the point where we now manage numerous portfolios of various sizes, with a combined rent role in excess of £3 million.

“We are very pleased at how existing and new clients have responded to the high quality service we offer and have entrusted the management of their property portfolios with us in the knowledge we are able to provide a holistic property service. Katie has joined recently to strengthen the team and will be overseeing the department. She is the key point of contact for all our clients. We are keen to grow the division further and look forward to working with more landlords and investors.”
