Swansea law firm invited to join prestigious legal network

A Swansea-based law firm has been invited to join the national prestigious legal network, LawNet.

Douglas-Jones Mercer, a corporate law firm, has joined the exclusive legal network, which provides shared knowledge, training and best practice for leading legal corporations, combined with an internationally recognised quality accreditation.

Founded in 1946, Douglas-Jones Mercer has established itself as one of the best-performing law firms in Wales and its membership of LawNet emphasises its
growing reputation in the national legal field.

The firm employs 55 people at its Mallard Way headquarters in Swansea Vale, has a turnover of £3m and represents a wide range of corporate and public sector clients across South Wales, the United Kingdom and as far afield as Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Japan. It was recently selected as a preferred supplier of legal advice to the South Wales Fire Service.

Recruitment to the LawNet network is by invitation only. Every member firm has to undergo a rigorous quality assurance assessment, which includes regular independent evaluations, providing an in-depth performance analysis. There are currently only two other LawNet members in Wales.

Hugh Hitchcock, board member and dispute resolution specialist at Douglas-Jones Mercer, said:

“We are delighted to have been invited to join LawNet. It demonstrates that we maintain the highest standards in our legal advice. We consistently invest in staff training to ensure that our team is performing to the best of its ability, and it’s great to be recognised for that. Being part of a nationwide network of the UK’s most respected law firms will stand us in good stead for our ambitious future growth plans.”

Welcoming the firm, John Thomas, Chief Executive of LawNet said:

“There are only a limited number of firms that are eligible for membership of LawNet and one of the attributes we demand is a commitment to delivering to the highest standards. Douglas-Jones Mercer has all the right values and track record; we’re very pleased to see the membership extended through them in South Wales.”

Every LawNet firm is required to achieve and maintain a recognised professional quality standard, the LawNet ISO9001:2008, covering both professional services and customer care and recognised with the LawNet Mark of Excellence.
