30,000 sq ft industrial/warehouse letting at Airfield Business Park, Market Harborough

Budworth Hardcastle and APB (Leicester) Limited have announced the letting of 30,000 sq ft of Industrial/Warehouse space at Airfield Business Park, Market Harborough on behalf of Leicestershire County Council.

Units G1 and G2 have been let on a new 10-year lease to Thrift +. Thrift + are an online retailer with a vision to create the single best destination to shop for high quality second-hand clothing. Via the website customers apply for a free Thrift Bag which is then filled with the clothes they wish to donate and sent back to the warehouse. The clothes then pass through quality control and once approved are uploaded to the website. Once sold 33% of every sale is donated to a specific charity of the customer’s choice.

Amanda Lawrence of Budworth Hardcastle comments “This is a significant letting for Airfield Business Park being the largest units in the scheme. All parties worked hard to agree and complete the letting within 8 weeks and we are delighted to welcome Thrift + to the business park”

Reg Pollock of APB (Leicester) LLP commented “Airfield Business Park has been a resounding success and shows that Leicestershire County Council have put the needs of occupiers first by speculatively developing the units. The scheme totals over 80,000 sq ft of Industrial/Warehouse space in Phase 1.

Councillor Byron Rhodes, Leicestershire County Council cabinet member for finance and resources, said: “Supporting businesses is important, particularly in the current climate, as it helps boost our local economy and creates jobs.

“Thrift+ is playing a part in tackling climate change, which is one of our top priorities. The move proves how attractive the county is as a place to not only work, but live, invest and socialise.”

The Agents have also completed a lease of a smaller unit on the same business park in the last few weeks. Unit J5 has been let to Friars Airfield Solutions an established business providing a comprehensive solution for all aviation needs – from airfield ground lighting to signage and wind indicators.

The units have been highly sought after with several units going Under Offer prior to completion and further units now in legals. Only two units within Phase 1 remain being E1 and E2 which are each 14,014 sq ft and benefit from an eave’s height of 8m, lighting, roller shutter loading doors and large fenced and gated yard areas to the rear. Please contact the agents for further details on these units or if you would like to discuss any requirements for the imminent Phase 2/3 coming forwards in 2021.
