Students at the University of Warwick are benefiting from close to £2 million worth of investment in the campus halls of residence.
Coventry firm Deeley Construction completed the work in the space of just two months, refurbishing 308 bedrooms, 40 shower rooms, 40 bathrooms, toilets and kitchens over four floors and in five blocks.
The mammoth job has seen a whole range of materials used by 80 skilled workers including more than 50,000 ceramic tiles!
Martin Gallagher, the managing director of Deeley Construction, praised his team.
He said: “It was a massive challenge to deliver this project in the space of ten weeks and we should not underestimate the size of it.
“The team was absolutely determined to get the work done on time and on budget and while it was very, very tight, we managed to do it.
“I was impressed with everyone’s can-do attitude and it has resulted in a very satisfied client.”
Philip Moore, of the University of Warwick, said: “The scale of this fast-track project was one of the most difficult to complete in the time frames allocated and needed all parties to work extremely effectively to deliver this in 10 weeks.”
