Pick Everard Scotland welcomes industry heavyweight as director

Gordon Wilkinson, Pick Everard

National property, construction and infrastructure consultancy Pick Everard has bolstered its ranks in Scotland by appointing a new cost management director for the region.

Gordon Wilkinson has more than 35 years’ experience in the construction industry and will be using his expertise to grow the commercial cost management and quantity surveying teams from the firm’s Glasgow office, on St Vincent Street.

He joins Pick Everard from Faithful+Gould, where he was a director and in charge of the Glasgow office project management, cost management and building surveying teams.

Gordon said: “I was aware of Pick Everard’s strong reputation having worked with them on Scape Group’s Asset Management, Surveying and Design Services Framework. The firm’s ambitious growth plans impressed me and when the opportunity arose to join the team, I was keen to get on board.

“Despite the considerable challenges arising from the coronavirus outbreak, we have a robust client base and order book to help get us through these unprecedented times. The firm has played a large role in the ongoing redevelopment of Scotland and there are many more infrastructure opportunities that we are looking forward to supporting clients with.”

Last year Pick Everard cemented its commitment to Glasgow by moving into a 4,500sq ft office space at The Beacon to help the firm be closer to its clients. As well as expanding its offering in Scotland, the multi-disciplinary consultancy has secured work on major infrastructure frameworks, including Pagabo’s second generation, £500m Professional Services framework.

As part of his new role, Gordon will also work closely with Perfect Circle – a national multi-disciplinary consultancy, comprising Pick Everard, Gleeds and AECOM – which this year is set to complete its rebid for Scape Group’s £350m Built Environment Consultancy Services (BECS) framework.

Gordon added: “I know from my own experience how important a proactive and collaborative approach is. I will be working closely with all our clients in the region to understand their needs so we can tailor our approach to ensure they get the most benefit out of working with us.”

“The business is already in a great position with projects on key frameworks in place. We possess the right in-house experience to grow our services even further across Scotland and I am very much looking forward to delivering on the firm’s ambitious plans.”

Euan Matheson, regional director of Pick Everard Scotland, said: “As a business, we have a proven track record of delivering for clients in Scotland , including the award-winning Cuningar Loop woodland retreat on the Clyde. We moved into our new state-of-the-art office at The Beacon to reflect our strong reputation and attract the top talent in the industry.

“Having someone of Gordon’s calibre and experience come on board is a big boost for the entire business. His expertise and contacts will prove to be vital as we procure more projects and prepare for framework rebids.”
