Property agents CPBigwood have announced a significant expansion of their risk management team.

The move reflects new business wins and increased regulatory requirements.

The department, based primarily in the company’s Summer Row offices in Birmingham, has more than doubled numbers to five.

The three new arrivals, all with extensive experience in the property sector, are internal transfers.

Shelley Harding, who has been with CPBigwood for12 years, has moved from the compliance team to the role of risk management coordinator. Michael Kelly, with ten years’ service, and Ivan Lloyd, 18 years in the sector,  joining CPBigwood in 2012, have switched from property management roles to become dedicated surveyors for the team.

Mr Lloyd will be based in the East Midlands.

They join Peter Jordan, nine years’ service and head of department, and building surveyor David Holliman, seven years.

Mr Jordan, senior risk management coordinator, said: “The moves will allow the company to continue to offer professional levels of services in the area of both general risk and fire risk assessments, and management of the increasing level of auditable data that modern surveys create. The surveys – and the resolution of any failings – have to be recorded and maintained as up-to-date records, retained on behalf of our clients.

“It is designed to ensure the safety of all people – including residents, contractors and members of the public – that visit, or are impacted upon, by any building which CPBigwood manages.

“The changes have been implemented to meet the needs of the increasing success of CPBigwood in attracting new business.”

All the surveyors within the team have undergone training with West Midlands Fire Service, giving them competency to undertake suitable and sufficient fire risk assessments under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

CPBigwood manages over 25,000 units across the UK.
