Consensus Capital Property Ltd has appointed Jerome Roith, former managing director of residential estate agency Carrington & Co, as its business development director.
Jerome, who joins the firm with nearly two decades of experience in property, will oversee the company’s acquisition of vacant, part-vacant, and distressed commercial property across the UK. He will select sites that are suitable for development as part of the private equity firm’s new social housing fund.
Jerome brings with him a wealth of experience in residential and commercial property. Having founded Carrington & Co in 1997 and subsequently sold it to a European investor, he was then appointed commercial agency manager at respected City-based chartered surveyors Copping Joyce.
Through his 19 years of experience in the sector, Jerome has developed specialities in raising finance, structuring deals, as well as in sourcing development and investment opportunities.
Among the many organisations Jerome has worked with are a number of blue-chip clients, including Guardian Media Group, Rreef Property Fund, Grainger PLC, Sanctuary and Places 4 People. He also has an extensive network of contacts which offers a variety of business development opportunities to Consensus Capital Property.
The appointment comes shortly after the launch of Consensus Capital Property’s £50m fund to convert vacant city centre office buildings into social housing. The fund aims to provide a secure fixed income return for investors at the rate of 5% per annum plus upside on exit.
Jerome said: “It’s a great time to join Consensus Capital Property and help to shape the growth and success of a very entrepreneurial and experienced business. The firm is full of ambitious, talented people and I look forward to bringing my expertise in the UK property market to the fold.
“There are lots of very exciting things happening at the firm and I look forward to spearheading this along with the rest of the team at Consensus Capital Property.”
Andrew Montague, managing director of Consensus Capital Property, said: “We’re glad to have Jerome on board and I have no doubt his extensive experience in commercial property, raising finance, and structuring deals will be indispensable to the firm.
“We have a track record of delivering strong, sustainable returns for our investors and Jerome’s appointment can only add to that. As someone who has demonstrated real ambition, determination, and commitment, he fits our firm very well and will undoubtedly be a terrific addition to the company.”
