A fast-growing recruitment agency has broadened its reach in the West Midlands after launching another office in Tamworth.

MET Recruitment, which is headquartered in Dudley, has invested £100,000 into opening a site in Pacific House, just a few hundred yards from the M42 junction.

The company has already managed to attract sector specialist Dee Edwards as Recruitment Consultant and Claire Foster as Industrial Growth Manager, with the latter boasting a long track-record of managing on-site accounts with 100 plus temporary workers.

It is experience she is putting into good use with the business already securing its first account with Stormking, who is part of the Epwin Group.

The company, an expert in GRP products for the construction industry, is using MET Recruitment to source more than 30 temporary staff every week, covering six different roles.

“Clients are keen to look at a new breed of recruiter, who focuses on their requirements and can build strategic relationships that aren’t there just for the short-term win,” explained Claire Foster, who was previously Account Director at Extra Personnel.

“That’s what really attracted me to this project with MET Recruitment. The agency has a reputation for doing things differently and ensuring both candidates and companies are both looked after, often going above and beyond to ensure the contract obligations are met – whether that is for five temporary staff or one hundred.”

She continued: “Tamworth is full of industrial estates with lots of logistics and manufacturing businesses on them. From talking to these companies, they are crying out for a reliable recruitment company, who has access to a strong pool of skilled labour. That’s what we’re aiming to bring to the area.

“Stormking is our first client and we’re currently in discussion with several firms on Relay Park, Birch Coppice, Centurion Park, Amington Industrial Estate and Mercian Park. There’s a lot of potential and that’s why we’ve invested £100,000 into creating a dedicated base here.”

MET Recruitment’s Tamworth operation will offer commercial, industrial, skilled and tech candidates, with the emphasis on both temporary workers and permanent staff through its expanding ‘perm’ team in Dudley.

It will also look to tap into the company’s recently launched ‘logistics’ offer to support transport and distribution firms in the M42 corridor and further afield across Staffordshire and into the East Midlands.

Led by Transport Director Salvy Naccarato, this division has grown to four people and can provide access to both couriers and drivers with specialist skills in hiabs, tankers and waste disposal.

Matthew Hunter, Industrial Director at MET Recruitment, concluded: “A large part of our focus in Tamworth will be industrial and logistics – the area just lends itself to these two sectors and we are perfectly set-up to deliver what they want.

“We are going into it with an open mind however, and, if new opportunities, arise we’ll go after them. This is our first office in Staffordshire, yet it is still close enough to the Black Country for us to leverage each other’s strengths.

“Going forward, we have big plans in place to open a third office, with Shropshire the likely destination.”
