Chartered Building Surveyor – Business Opportunity

Our client runs a successful building consultancy in the South West of the UK who is now able to offer a business opportunity for another experienced Chartered Building Surveyor to join them.

Working exclusively on their behalf, we are most interested to hear from building surveyors who tick three main boxes, 1 – technical competence in terms of building pathology, 2 – commercial acumen, and 3 – enthusiasm for a stake in a business to take it forward in the short/medium term.

If you can bring sufficient initial equity to cover your costs (say 6 months, although by individual negotiation) but would be excited about the offer of a generous fee split so you take home more of the fees you generate then I would like to hear from you. It’s a good balance between going out on your own from ‘cold’ to working with someone and establishing yourself with less risk. i.e. established typing support and PI cover.

In the main, they are successful in the private and commercial residential sector. Instructions are predominantly with major defects surveys, bespoke analytical building pathology survey work (including interesting listed and heritage buildings), providing recommendations for remedial works, detailed specification writing, tendering, contract administration, PPMs, some party wall and expert witness advice.

You should be confident, customer facing, have broad building surveying experience but have a genuine interest in the existing core client base and really want a stake in something that will, ultimately, give you more control over your diary and earning potential. You may be able to bring business or add additional professional services.
