Job Title: Building Contriol Surveyor
Location: Essex
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum, plus benefits and package.
Our client, a borough council, are looking for an experienced, dynamic and enthusiastic Building Control Surveyor to join their commercially focused team in Essex. This is part of an ambitious programme of work towards the creation of centralised, shared service for building control.
You will report directly into the Building Control Manager, your main responsibilities and duties will include managing a case load of applications including complex schemes by analysing and negotiating with applications to achieve compliance with the Building regulations allied legislation. You will also be expected to take the lead onsite inspections, offer professional and skilled judgment on acceptable solutions.
A strong knowledge of building, construction and building control legislation is essential, as are good communication skills, commercial awareness and being able to work in a team. You will ensure health, safety, welfare and convenience of people in and about buildings of all types within the borough and beyond.
The ideal candidate will be CIOB, RICS or CABE or an Associate member experienced in Building Control and a certificate of attendance in respect of dangerous structures training. You will ideally have a BSc (Hons) degree in Building Control/Surveying or cognate degree.
