Trebor/Hillwood flying with Aero Centre Yorkshire site acquisition

Trebor Developments, working in conjunction with its partner, Hillwood, have agreed terms with Peel Land and Property (Peel L&P) to acquire a 5.66 acre site at Aero Centre Yorkshire, the development site surrounding Doncaster Sheffield Airport (DSA).

Trebor has submitted a planning application for a two unit, industrial, speculative development and will deliver units of 45,380 sq ft and 58,345 sq ft, suitable for manufacturing or distribution uses.

The development will be known as Avion and subject to planning construction is due to commence in summer 2019 for Q1 2020 occupation by prospective occupiers.

The industrial facilities will be of high levels of quality and sustainability, suitable for a range of occupier requirements in the logistics or manufacturing sectors, the location next to DSA and close to key motorway network provides an excellent destination for a wide range of occupiers.

The development by Trebor and Hillwood is the third in the area to be announced by the partnership, with a speculative 78,458 sq ft unit shortly to commence on site at Atomic, 31 East, Dinnington, which will be ready for occupation by the end of 2019 and Gate 4, Doncaster, a 408,000 sq ft speculative distribution facility announced in the last few days.

Bob Tattrie, Managing Partner of Trebor Developments, commented, “We have worked closely with Peel in relation to the design proposals for the industrial facilities on this site, which will see the next phase of the Airport and surrounding land implemented during this year. The mid-size industrial units will appeal to a range of local and regional occupiers looking for quality, competitively priced, accommodation to lease and providing unit sizes which are not generally available in the area. We look forward to implementing the scheme this year”.

Andrew Farrer, Development Manager for Peel L&P commented: “Trebor and Hillwood’s commitment to the site demonstrates continued investor confidence in Aero Centre Yorkshire and in Doncaster as a whole. Investment at the Airport is quickly gathering momentum and the development will form an important element to DSA’s masterplan, creating further employment opportunities as well as boosting the local economy.”

Trebor Developments and Hillwood are represented by the Sheffield office of Knight Frank and Commercial Property Partners in Sheffield.
