Godwin Capital has announced the appointment of a top finance expert to its new Advisory Board.

Godwin Capital is part of the Godwin Group, the UK-focused regional property development and investment company, with offices in Birmingham, Nottingham and London.

Henry Porter, of Bluewater Capital & Compliance, will join the new Advisory Board as a well-respected specialist in financial compliance.

Andrew Mitchell, Godwin’s investment director, said: “We are delighted to welcome Henry Porter who has 17 years’ experience in investment banking.

“With increasing scrutiny on the investment industry and, in particular, compliance, our first recruit onto the Advisory Board ticks all the right boxes.”

Mr Porter is the founder of Bluewater Capital & Compliance. His investment banking experience spans international financial centres in the UK, Singapore, Australia and United States.

He is an expert in Fintech (Financial Technology) and the distribution of execution and clearing services through emerging e-channels.

Before launching Bluewater, Mr Porter was head of e-commerce sales at Deutsche Bank, where he led a team responsible for advising and providing execution services across rates, credit, futures and options, and FX to the world’s leading hedge funds.

He previously worked at JPMorgan where he pioneered the distribution of derivatives trading through its market-leading platform eXtraTrade.

Mr Mitchell added: “Henry’s career has helped him progress to now be the founder of Bluewater Capital & Compliance, offering corporate financing services in the digital world, and he will be a real strength as a member of the Godwin Capital Advisory Board.”

Mr Porter said: “I’ve been impressed by how the Godwin Group has quickly progressed in the property and investments market, and I’m thrilled to be joining the Advisory Board of such an exciting brand.”
