IME Property brokers deal on former Pagan Osborne office

IME Property has acquired the former offices of the failed law firm Pagan Osborne at 2-4 Comiston Road on behalf of a growing firm of Chartered Accountants.

Morningside-based Ian J Brown & Company has assigned the leasehold interests on the 1,100 sq ft property until 2022 at a rental of £22,000 per annum.

Pagan Osborne, one of Scotland’s oldest law firms, fell into administration last month with the loss of seventy jobs.  Thorntons, who are also a full service law firm, promptly snapped them up.

“The premises will be an excellent fit for our client who had been looking to expand in the area for some time,” explains Iain Mercer, managing director of Edinburgh-based IME Property.

“Corner frontage properties like this in Morningside rarely come available so we were quick to react as soon as we knew there was a possibility of acquiring it.”

The accountancy practice has had a presence in Morningside for the last 4 years and they say the move to new premises will open up a wealth of expansion opportunities.
