Forward-thinking office design in spotlight

West Midlands’ business leaders and office designers are being invited to take inspiration from the innovative thinking behind the recent refurbishment of Deloitte’s Birmingham office.

The business advisory firm renewed its lease at Four Brindleyplace, remodelling the office space to enable employees to choose from a variety of agile working spaces as well as creating environments that are inclusive, inviting and inspiring.

A seminar at Deloitte’s Birmingham offices is being hosted by the British Council for Offices (BCO) and is sponsored by national fit out and refurbishment specialist Overbury.

Overbury delivered the unique fit-out transforming 60,000 sq ft of office space, ensuring the company is at the forefront of the ever-changing office environment. Birmingham’s refurbishment forms part of Deloitte’s national fit-out programme, which is creating agile workspace for all its UK offices.

The Deloitte team will be joined at the event by project interior designers Perkins+Will, who will explain the thinking behind the new way of working and the design of the offices to implement the new methods.

Danny Parmar, business development manager at Overbury and member of the BCO’s Midlands and East Anglia committee, said: “The design and fit-out of Deloitte’s Brindleyplace office is very unique and forward thinking, and was a pleasure to deliver.

“Many offices will soon follow this design, with the office culture and ways of working constantly evolving.”

Pauline Biddle, practice senior partner for Deloitte in the Midlands, says: “The way we, and many of our clients, work is changing and the investment in Four Brindleyplace is much more than just about updating aesthetics and layout.

“We want everyone who works at Deloitte to feel connected with where they work, which in turn drives creativity. The open-plan office space coupled with a variety of break-out areas, new client suites and reception area have all had an extremely positive impact on colleagues and clients.”

The New Agile Office Environment for Deloitte in Birmingham seminar will take place on Tuesday, September 26 from 5pm, at Four Brindleyplace, Brunswick Street. It will be hosted by the British Council for Offices (BCO). Admission is free for BCO members, otherwise entry is £25.
