Naismiths breaks £2 billion development monitoring milestone

Blane Perrotton says Naismiths is establishing itself as a market leader.

National real estate consultancy Naismiths is currently delivering project monitoring services on more than £2 billion in development funding, in what is a new record for the business.

Its national project monitoring team has been appointed to work on more than 400 projects throughout the country, in both the residential and commercial property sectors.

Marcus Higgins, national head of project monitoring services, has announced that the company had smashed through the significant milestone figure for the first time in its history.

He said: “These are huge numbers, and it is a record for the business. It represents a huge achievement for our teams across England, Wales and Scotland.

“We have a very strong reputation for project monitoring, which has helped us to win so many projects and to be appointed on some very large schemes.

“We have been providing this service at a very high level for many years and, while other companies have deemed it not as worthwhile as other services, we have continued to invest in project monitoring which has positioned us as a market leader.”

Most of the projects Naismiths is helping to deliver are in the residential sector, as it exploits the market’s surge. A number of individual projects are valued at more than a quarter of a billion pounds, with the North West and South East seeing particularly high demand for new housing.

Marcus said: “The residential market is really booming at the moment, such is the demand for housing all across the country. We have positioned ourselves well to benefit from this, and more than 60% of the projects we are helping to deliver are in this sector.

“With the shortage of commercial property to rent at the moment, many businesses are borrowing money in order to purchase units while they are available rather than renting. It provides a more secure future and generally means cheaper occupancy costs in the long-term. This trend in the market has led to Naismiths being appointed on many of these schemes.”

Blane Perrotton, managing director of Naismiths said: “This is a fantastic achievement for the business and reflects the high quality staff that the firm employs, in an age where so often service is below par. At the heart of the Naismiths culture is quality of service and this is clearly shown in establishing the company as a market leader.”
