Another big brand name sets up home in Bury St Edmunds

Commercial property agent Barker Storey Matthews has confirmed that one of the UK’s fastest growing retailers and the home of discount big brand name products, B&M will join regional home, leisure and garden brand The Range in occupying a new-build retail unit at Western Way Retail – the brand new retail park under construction in Bury St Edmunds.

Construction is now well under way at Western Way Retail one of the Bury St Edmunds newest shopping destinations, offering nearly 60,000 sq ft of modern, purpose built retail park with parking for 200 cars.

The Range was confirmed as Western Way Retail’s first occupier last year (2016) with the announcement of its tenancy of a 34,660 sq ft unit on a pre-let basis.

They will be joined by B&M who have agreed to lease the remaining unit totalling 24,487 sq ft.

Western Way Retail is located between Junctions 42 and 43 of the A14 and gives good access to and from the town and the surrounding area.  It is opposite the 40,000 sq ft ASDA superstore and close neighbours West Suffolk College, Havebury Housing Association and St Edmundsbury and Forest Heath councils .

Simon Burton, Director, Barker Storey Matthews, said, “Western Way Retail has attracted attention from a number of leading retail brands.  As a purpose-built retail park it has ease of access for local customers and those from further afield.

“As retailers, The Range and B&M are complementary brands.  By the nature of the goods they sell, brand new warehouse-style units with service yards to the rear and extensive customer parking at the front suits their suppliers and customers alike.”

Both retailers are scheduled to commence trading from their new outlet in by the end of this year (2017).

Barker Storey Matthews and Roche are joint letting agents under instruction at Western Way Retail.  The developer is the Bream Real Estate Group.
