Ikea announces £25m refurbishment for Nottingham store

IKEA has announced refurbishment plans worth £25 million for IKEA Nottingham. The new and improved store will enhance the shopping experience for customers from the Nottingham and Derbyshire area. It will ALSO provide new facilities for the store’s 500 co- workers.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary as part of the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire community this year, IKEA Nottingham is investing for the future by enhancing the customer experience in-store.

The refurbishment will include:

  • A 4,000 sq m commercial extension which contains a single storey car park
  • A larger and modernised 6,000 sq m showroom and a new market hall
  • A refurbished and larger restaurant
  • A refurbished and extended crèche (Småland)
  • A more spacious and modern working environment for IKEA Nottingham’s 500 co – workers

We are undertaking this refurbishment as part of our long term commitment to this region. IKEA is a good neighbour and wants to have a positive impact in the community where it operates. As such, both the local residential and business communities have been involved in discussions about the plans.

Construction work has begun with the store due for completion at the end of summer / early autumn 2018.
