Parts firm motors into new unit

A large unit on a quickly filling new-build development at a Swindon trade park has been sold to a growing motor parts business.

Property consultancy Myddelton & Major has successfully negotiated the sale of Unit K14 at Rockhaven Park to rapidly expanding Motor Parts Direct (MPD).

Quoting price for the 3,125 sq ft (290.3 sq m) property at Kembrey Park – one of Swindon’s most thriving industrial and trade counter locations – was £300,000.

Myddelton & Major Partner Philip Holford said: “Since Motor Parts Direct opened its first branch in Kettering in 2000 the firm has gone from strength to strength with many new branches and acquisitions.

“Supplying quality car parts to the independent garage industry, MPD has expansion plans for 2017 that will see it become the UK’s largest independent such dealer and already has more than 1,300 employees.

“The firm has chosen a good location at Rockhaven Park which provides brand new, high quality warehouse/industrial units from 1,500 to 3,125 sq ft.

“Indeed, anyone wanting to join the businesses which have already bought or leased units there will need to move quickly as there are only eight out of 19 still available.”

Rockhaven Park is situated on the edge of Kembrey Park, adjacent to the Kembrey Trade Centre.

The immediate area is an established industrial location which includes high profile trade occupiers and a Premier Inn Hotel and the Kembrey Inn are nearby.
