Dentons advises KanAm Grund Group on acquisition of prime office asset in central London

Dentons, the world’s largest real estate legal team, has advised KanAm Grund Group (KanAm), the Frankfurt-based property fund manager, on its acquisition of One Wood Street, EC2 from ÆRIUM, the pan-European Fund Manager.  ÆRIUM sold the prime office asset located in the City of London on behalf of Hanwha Life, the Korean life insurance company.

Constructed in 2007, One Wood Street provides 184,184 sq. ft. of office, retail and ancillary accommodation.  The property is fully let to one office and three retail tenants including its major tenant, law firm Eversheds Sutherland, which uses the building as its international headquarters.

Dentons Real Estate partner Andrew Henderson, who advised KanAm on the deal, together with Corporate partner Matt Tinger and Tax partner Alex Thomas, said, “We are delighted to have advised KanAm on this acquisition as well as on its 2016 acquisition of 68 Lombard Street.  This deal played to our strengths as a Firm.  Harnessing our investment expertise in London and drawing on our network of colleagues in Luxembourg and Germany, we delivered a complex and high profile transaction for KanAm.  London continues to be a target for international investors seeking substantial prime assets.  Foreign investors and funds remain active.”
