JLL has entered into a new charity partnership with Crisis, the national charity for homeless people.

The partnership is particularly poignant for the Birmingham offices given the growing concern over homelessness in the city, with the official rough sleeping count revealing another 53% rise in 2016.

Vicky Beach associate director at JLL and head of fundraising for the office said: “We look forward to helping Crisis raise hundreds of thousands of pounds to help people who are homeless, as well as creating many opportunities to work collaboratively from a research and policy perspective.

“For our business to thrive, we need our communities to thrive. As a responsible business, with a significant influence in the property industry and beyond, we have an important role to play.”

The new two year partnership follows on from the firm’s previous one with children’s charity Starlight, which raised over £650,000 for the charity through a variety of activities and events ranging from JLL’s annual triathlon and reliability run to bake sales up and down the country.

Matt Green, director of Crisis Skylight Birmingham and Coventry & Warks, added: “With homelessness rising in Birmingham, we are delighted that JLL has chosen us for this major two year partnership. Our work simply wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of our supporters, and as homelessness continues to rise in Birmingham, it’s needed now more than ever.”

“We’d like to thank JLL and its employees for their kind support, which will help us to provide life-changing housing, health, education and employment services to homeless people across the country.”
