Swansea Bay Business Club celebrate St. David’s Day with Scott Quinnell

Swansea Bay Business Club celebrated St David’s Day this year with Welsh rugby legend Scott Quinnell and a host of businesses from across South West Wales.

The former British and Irish Lion joined guests at Parc y Scarlets in Llanelli on the day of Welsh celebration to discuss his sporting career and his work since his retirement from the game.

Hayley Davies, President of Swansea Bay Business Club said: “Having someone of Scott’s calibre join us on such a special day in Wales was a real treat for all of our guests. His talk gave some fascinating insight in to what it takes to make it to the very top of the sporting ladder. It was also inspiring to hear about how since Scott’s retirement from rugby, his work in the media has gone from strength to strength.”

As ever, the lunch afforded guests the opportunity to network with many prominent businesses from across the Swansea Bay region and beyond.

Hayley added: “Hosting the lunch in Llanelli is part of our on-going commitment to expand our reach further in to West Wales. We were delighted to see several businesses from the Carmarthenshire region including SVEK Computing, Davies Craddock and Scarlets in attendance as well as representatives from JCP Solicitors, my own firm, who have offices in Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.”

Looking forward, Swansea Bay Business Club will be joined by Sarah Powell, CEO of Sport Wales, at their April Lunch in the Village Hotel in Swansea.

Hayley continued: “Looking ahead to next month we are delighted to be welcoming Sarah to speak as we return to Swansea for our lunch. Similarly to Scott, Sarah has excelled on the international sporting stage and has also flourished since her retirement from sport. Her journey from a secondary school teacher to the first female CEO of Sport Wales is sure to make for a fascinating talk.”

The lunch will take place at the Village Hotel in Swansea on Friday 28th April. Guests are asked to arrive at 12:15 for a 1pm lunch.

Tickets for the event cost £25 per member and £30.50 for non-members, this includes a two-course lunch.

Bookings will close at midnight on Friday 21st April 2017. To avoid disappointment, early booking is advised.
