Lambert Smith Hampton has completed the sale of a 32,500 sq ft industrial building on the Marsh Barton Trading Estate, Exeter, just four months after its appointment to market the site by automotive specialist Hendy Group.
Strategically located just four miles north of the M5, the rarely available freehold industrial site had been used by the Hendy Group for the repair, maintenance and sales of new and used commercial vehicles. In addition to a detached workshop unit, the three-acre site included numerous parking bays for large vehicles and good circulation space.
Chris Williams, LSH’s industrial and logistics surveyor who handled the sale, said: “We generated significant interest in the site through proactive local and regional promotion, which led to us receiving no less than seven offers – three of which were in excess of the asking price.
“The speed in which the sale was achieved, and the robustness of the offers put forward, illustrates the buoyancy of the industrial market in this area at the moment, which is experiencing high levels of demand and low levels of supply.”
