Patron move strengthens Kymin’s links with Newport University

Leading South Wales financial services business Kymin has forged even closer links with Newport University.

Kymin, which has its headquarters in Bridge Street, Newport, has become a corporate patron at the leading UK university.

Kymin Financial Services Operations Director Robin Hall, a graduate of the city’s university, said: “We see the link as being mutually beneficial for ourselves and the university. The financial services industry is an important, sustainable and developing industry in south Wales and one which has been identified by the Welsh Government as a target growth area for Wales and south Wales in particular.

“We will be looking to work closely with the university both in terms of visiting the campus to offer advice and instruction and will also, be inviting post graduates, undergraduate and graduates, to take the opportunity to spend time here at Kymin understanding the intricacies of modern financial services industry both in terms of financial advice, investments and stock broking.”
Kymin joins an exclusive band of blue chip Newport and South Wales businesses invited to become corporate patrons of the university.

The two way relationship will allow businesses to avail themselves of networking opportunities provided by the university while the university will be ale to offer their students internships at the patrons’ businesses.

Dr Peter Noyes, Vice Chancellor of the University of Wales, Newport said: “Everyone at the University is delighted that Kymin have agreed to join us as our latest corporate patron. One of our central purposes is to support local businesses and help drive the economy.

“Our corporate patrons not only support our work in doing this, but also offer invaluable advice as to how we can make our services to businesses as relevant and effective as possible. Kymin are a fine local firm and we are very pleased that they have chosen to work with us so closely.”

Kymin Financial Services sales director, Chris Taylor,  said: “We’re looking to work ever more closely with the university through this link up to develop ideas which will be of benefit to the city of Newport as whole and by taking full advantage of the university’s marvellous new city centre campus and its stunning meeting facilities.”
