CBRE has promoted Will Ventham and Nick Woodward to head of its office agency and capital markets teams respectively in Birmingham.

Will, a director in the office agency team, is a familiar face within the Midlands office market, having worked in the city for the past 15 years. He started as a graduate at CBRE (formerly Insignia Richard Ellis) in 2001, progressing rapidly through the business. Will is also a committee member within the West Midlands Office Agents Society.

During his career, Will has advised on some of the city’s most significant office schemes including Brindleyplace, One and Two Snowhill, and Two Colmore Square. He is also responsible for the team’s occupier services business, having advised the likes of BT, AON, Regus and Shoosmiths. In 2015, Will formed part of the team that advised HSBC on its high-profile acquisition of 2 Arena Central.

Will’s progression coincides with the office agency team’s evolution into one of the highest regarded advisors in the Midlands, reflective of its current instruction book, which includes the 55 Colmore Row, Paradise Circus, Arena Central, Cornerblock, The Lewis Building and Blythe Valley Business Park.

Will takes over the role from Ashley Hancox, who has been promoted to head up CBRE’s national office agency group, having led the Birmingham team for the past eight years. Ashley will continue to be based at CBRE’s office in Birmingham.

Nick Woodward joined CBRE from niche property consultancy GSD in 2008, following its acquisition by CBRE. He was made a director in 2014.

Nick specialises in advising institutions, property companies and private equity investors on disposals and acquisitions, principally in the office and industrial sectors within the Midlands.

Nick has advised on some the city’s highest profile buildings and in 2015 was instrumental in securing the £87.5m sale of 1 Colmore Square, which set a record yield.

The capital markets team is currently advising on a number of key assets in Birmingham, including Hines and Lonestar’s stake in Brindleyplace, Nurton Developments’ 2 Colmore Square, Hines’ One Eleven Edmund Street and Savills IM’s 2 St Philips Place.

Martin Guest, managing director of CBRE’s Birmingham office, said: “Will and Nick have proven track records in their respective fields and are both well respected in the industry.

“The office agency and capital markets teams have had a stellar year, advising on many of the city’s major lettings, acquisitions and disposals. I have every confidence that under Will’s and Nick’s stewardship the office agency and capital markets teams will further strengthen their market leading positions.”
