100 Queen Street welcomes Edrington’s new global HQ

International premium spirits company Edrington will move its worldwide HQ to Glasgow’s 100 Queen Street, in a letting brokered by Knight Frank prior to completion.

The producer and distributor of The Macallan, The Famous Grouse, Highland Park and Cutty Sark Scotch whiskies, Brugal rum and Snow Leopard vodka, will occupy the top four levels of the building, at a combined 29,890 sq. ft. – representing 59% of the total space, including the two newly-constructed floors.

Located immediately opposite the fully-occupied 110 Queen Street, developer Esson Properties is undertaking £8.25 million of renovation work on the property. ISG is providing construction support, while Comprehensive Design Architects (CDA) is delivering architectural and local project management input.

Ian Curle, CEO at Edrington, said: “100 Queen Street is the perfect location for Edrington’s international business and our leading brands. We looked at a number of properties in Glasgow for this strategically-important move, and Queen Street combines high quality accommodation with a compelling location at the heart of Glasgow’s professional and cultural centre.”

Sarah Addis, Senior Surveyor at Knight Frank in Glasgow, added: “Securing Edrington’s global HQ is testament to the quality Grade A redevelopment being delivered by Esson Properties. In the very competitive Glasgow market, we are delighted to welcome an occupier of Edrington’s calibre to 100 Queen Street.

“By combining high quality office accommodation with one of the most iconic viewpoints in the city, the property offers a captivating opportunity for occupiers – we envisage high levels of interest will continue for the remaining floors.” Knight Frank are marketing the space alongside Ryden.

Hunter Esson, Chief Executive of Esson Properties, commented: “The timing of this redevelopment has shaped up well, as the supply and demand dynamics in Glasgow’s office market continue to shift. Queen Street has become one of the most desirable locations for commercial accommodation in the city, with significant improvements taking place over the last couple of years and a host of local amenities right on its doorstep. We’re thrilled to have attracted such a high-profile occupier to 100 Queen Street.”
