Leading recruiter Acorn retains top spot in Wales

Leading, multi-specialist recruitment and training company, Acorn, has once again retained its position as the number one recruitment agency in Wales.

Industry publisher Recruitment International has released its annual Top 500 report, placing multi-specialist Acorn as the leading recruitment company in Wales for the eleventh year running. The report has also placed the Newport-headquartered agency at number 54 out of over 9,000 UK-based recruitment companies, placing Acorn into the top one percent of agencies UK-wide.

Acorn continues to be ranked in the ‘Top 20 companies’ in the UK in a number of key industry sectors including 8th for its specialist Technical Division and for the first time its growing Senior Executive Search and Rail Divisions.

Matt Southall, Acorn’s Managing Director, said: “At Acorn we are fully focused on providing the highest possible standards of service and work extremely hard to ensure that we achieve outstanding results for our clients, year-on-year. Being placed yet again in the top one percent of all UK agencies is brilliant news and is testament to quality of service our staff provide to clients across the UK all year round.

“And so far in 2015 we have continued to be successful with a number of significant contract wins; we have been awarded a prestigious place as a Crown Commercial Service (CCS) supplier on the non-medical, non-clinical temporary staffing framework for the National Health Service (NHS), and have made some key appointments in specialist sectors such as Executive Search and IT. We have also expanded our geographic reach, with the appointment of Mike Ruddock OBE as our new Development Director, based in Ireland.  The results we have achieved to-date this year have helped strengthen our business further, with this being reflected in our reoccurring strong position in Recruitment International’s rankings.”
The Recruitment International Top 500 report is the only comprehensive report into the UK recruitment industry, which lists all agencies with a turnover in excess of £5million. The report provides information on business size, specialities and sectors, as well as featuring the top companies in a multitude of disciplines and sectors.

With more than 20 years in the business, Acorn has its UK headquarters at the Celtic Springs Business Park in Newport and operates from 39 branches across Wales, the South West, North West and South East of England, as well as four offices in Ireland and Australia from which its subsidiary Acorn Global operates.

Each week Acorn places up to 6,500 people into the workplace with around 1,200 different clients. The group also makes 1,700 permanent placements and delivers training to more than 1,000 individuals every year.
