£120,000 refit and job boost comes to Mansfield Road

CAR Audio Centre, a local retailer of car audio equipment and GPS sat navs, has secured new premises on Mansfield Road in a deal brokered by NG Chartered Surveyors.

Its relocation from Hyson Green will create four new jobs at the company and, as well as supplying car audio equipment, the firm has plans to expand its product range into high-end TV and home hi-fi equipment when the shop opens in March 2012.

Jack Digva, director at Car Audio Centre, said, “We are in the process of completely gutting the shop. It was very tired and worn, so we decided to completely refurbish it before we open in March 2012.

“We want to create a beautiful shop where people can browse the latest audio equipment for their home and car. Our budget for the work is £120,000. This includes the refurbishment of three two-bedroom residential flats above the shop.

“This shop will be our flagship store in Nottingham – we waited four years to find the right location. Our other outlets are in London, Birmingham and Manchester.  We will be vacating our current shop in Hyson Green to move to Mansfield Road. The new retail unit is bigger, has a triple aspect frontage and customer parking.

“Despite the recession we are seeing growth in our company. More people then ever before are driving longer distances for work commitments. They want to make the journey as pleasant and stress-free as possible with good audio and navigation equipment. And, as dining out gets expensive, more people are entertaining at home and don’t mind investing in good quality home audio equipment that will last.

“The service I receive from NG is outstanding. I have been working with them for over five years and would not go anywhere else.”

Sunny Landa, from NG, managed the deal. He said: “Car Audio Centre is a thriving business with outlets all over the UK. This latest transaction is the latest in a string of successes for NG along Mansfield Road.

“Over the past year we have managed the sale and rentals of several units along the road which has brought new business and local jobs to the area.”

Last year Sunny sold two shops. This was followed with successfully letting 523 Mansfield Road to the estate agents Euro Properties Direct.

“The growing popularity of the road was evident when a Zone A rent of £25 per Sq ft was achieved, against the industry average at the time of £18.”, continued Sunny. “We also successfully negotiated a rent review on several other retail units much to the delight of the landlords as a result of this success.”
