GBR Phoenix Beard applauds latest letting at 1 Victoria Square

GBR Phoenix Beard, on behalf of client Salmon Harvester Opportunity Fund, has let 2,675 sq ft of penthouse office space at 1 Victoria Square to specialist IT recruitment company Applause IT.  The company was established by directors Mike Scotney and Tim Morris, and now employs 12 people based at the new panoramic offices on the ninth floor.  Applause IT has completed the fit out of the new office space, including commissioning renowned Birmingham graffiti artist Josh @gent48 to create two black and white cartoon styled customised wall coverings depicting an IT timeline with iconic images from the sector, set against the backdrop of a Birmingham skyline.

Speaking about the company’s move, Mike and Tim said:

“The move to 1 Victoria Square has been a real boost to our operations, providing a highly creative environment for our staff.  This was by far the best office space we viewed, with some of the best views in the city. We were particularly attracted by the blank canvas of the space on offer, the superb building services provided and lighting in the space we have taken. The new offices give us the scope to grow and be an important factor in attracting new talent into the team in what is an extremely competitive marketplace.”

Joe Shorney of GBR Phoenix Beard represented the landlord Salmon Harvester Opportunity Fund on the letting and said:

“The redevelopment plans for Paradise Circus are significant to 1 Victoria Square and there is a natural refocus of activity on this end of the city. Proximity to New Street is also a real draw for companies and of course the work taking place there can only enhance the appeal of this high profile office scheme.”

Joint letting agents for 1 Victoria House are DTZ and the remaining space is on the ninth ‘penthouse’ floor which is approximately 4,000 sq ft and 11,000 sq ft on the fourth floor. Salmon Harvester has invested in a number of improvement projects at 1 Victoria Square, including upgrading the lifts and new signage to the building.  The scheme is 120,000 sq ft in total.
