Early lettings success as Alder King markets space at Filton 20

Property consultancy Alder King has achieved early success after being instructed by BAE Systems to market nearly 177,000 sq ft of modern office, industrial and research accommodation at Filton 20, a 30 acre mixed use business park in north Bristol. The opening up of the previously secure site located within the Filton Enterprise Area offers an internationally important opportunity to secure space alongside some of the region’s most successful manufacturing enterprises.

Following the instruction, three office lettings have recently been completed on the park to European missile systems company MBDA, research and development organisation EADS UK – Airbus Group Innovation, and innovation and engineering consultant Altran UK.

The instruction includes two major office properties – Brandon House and New Filton House – and two substantial production/office buildings – Blenheim Building and Braemar House. The four properties provide flexible modern accommodation with office space ranging from circa 1,500 sq ft up to 32,000 sq ft and large production facilities from circa 21,000 sq ft up to around 85,000 sq ft.

Simon Price, partner and head of agency at Alder King, said: “Filton 20 has long been an important manufacturing site occupied predominantly by aerospace and defence-related businesses. While many of these occupiers remain, this prime business park is now being opened up to create a multi-sector facility.

“This represents an internationally important opportunity for businesses to locate directly alongside existing successful enterprises such as BAE Systems, EADS and GKN and benefit from the unrivalled location, profile, access and highly skilled workforce of the area.”

MBDA’s Filton operation is home to the company’s Systems and Software departments. It has expanded taking an additional 6,500 sq ft at New Filton House.

EADS UK – Airbus Group Innovations has taken 8,266 sq ft of first floor office space in Brandon House, while Altran UK has expanded to take further space on site in Building 20R.
