Fishing tackle business hooked into Southampton Trade Park

Acting on behalf of ING REIM, national commercial property consultancy, Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) has secured a new tenant at Southampton Trade Park.

Unit 11 has been let to Poingdestres – a family-run fishing tackle business founded in 1970. The company has signed for 6,235 sq ft of space. A rent of £45,000 per annum was agreed, on a 10 year lease.

Steve Poingdestre at Poingdestres commented: “Our new space at Southampton Trade Park will house our mail order business as well as a large retail fishing tackle shop. During the course of the deal, planning permission was obtained to increase the retail/showroom use of the unit to 235 sq m. As a result we’re able to move our business into a new level of growth as we expand our retail offering.”

Adrian Whitfield, Director in LSH’s South Coast team, commented: “Since our appointment earlier in the year we’ve received a lot of interest in the park; its location and the quality of the units are major selling points to occupiers in a market where there is a shortage of high quality space. All units on the 63,000 sq ft estate are now either let or under offer, meaning that we are on track to ensure 100% occupancy by the end of the year.”

LSH acts alongside Jones Lang LaSalle as joint marketing agents on the scheme, and Savills Retail Planning acted as the planning consultant for ING REIM.
