Photographers put Two Snowhill in the frame

A group of budding photographers were granted exclusive access to the newest addition to Birmingham’s skyline as part of a citywide architecture festival.

Twenty amateur photographers were given the chance to explore new office development Two Snowhill as part of RIBA West Midlands’ Love Architecture Festival in Birmingham.

The building played host to a free to attend architectural photography workshop led by photographer Nathan Spencer.

The event saw the group given a short presentation and photography brief before heading off to capture the new 310,000 sq. ft. office development.

Richard Probert, commercial sales and letting manager at Ballymore, said: “It has been an interesting few years for Birmingham with all of the regeneration that is happening in the city. We were pleased to open up Two Snowhill as part of the festival to celebrate the interesting architecture Birmingham has to offer.”

The 310,000 sq ft Grade A office development is the biggest building to be delivered in the UK regions this year, and one of only two of more than 200,000 sq ft.

Architectural photographer Nathan Spencer was previously commissioned by the building’s joint developers Hines and Ballymore to document the life of Two Snowhill through the lens, from the beginning of construction until its completion in May 2013.

Nathan said: “It’s not often that you get the opportunity to photograph such a landmark building, so it was great to be able to take a group of aspiring photographers into Two Snowhill.”

The Love Architecture Festival, which is run by the Royal Institute of British Architect’s (RIBA) nation wide festival, celebrates architecture across England and Wales offering a programme of events between 21-30 June 2013.
