Free business clinics offered to firms in Southampton to help them grow

Small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) across the south are being offered one-to-one help and advice to help them grow at a series of funding and growth clinics in Southampton.

The clinics will be run by GrowthAccelerator, the government-backed programme which has been set up to help ambitious SMEs achieve their expansion potential.

The monthly clinics will be held at Grant Thornton’s offices in the city on the first Friday of every month. They will give SMEs direct access to local GrowthAccelerator experts to help them review their funding options, focus on a growth plan, identify appropriate Government support and establish new connections.

Guy Blackburn, from GrowthAccelerator in Southampton, said: “This is an ideal opportunity for businesses to plan their growth with a local expert, face to face. They will be able to discuss routes to investment and develop new ideas and strategies to achieve their full potential. These clinics are about helping SMEs to make solid business growth plans and access the necessary resources and finance to get ahead.”

Norman Armstrong, partner at Grant Thornton, added: “Businesses do have opportunities to grow – but it’s important that SMEs plan ahead and have access to the funding, advice and resources that they need to achieve their potential. These sessions offer real, practical advice on these vital elements to long term growth and success for local SME businesses.”

GrowthAccelerator is a partnership between leading private sector business growth experts Grant Thornton, Pera, Oxford Innovation, Winning Pitch and is backed by the Government.

There is no charge to attend the GrowthAccelerator funding and growth clinics.
