Celtic Springs is a cut above thanks to new business

Celtic Springs Business Park is now a ‘cut above’ the rest as workers benefit from a new hair and beauty salon which has opened there this November.

After identifying the perfect opportunity to open the first hairdressers in this thriving business park, Maxine Jones, from Cardiff, decided this was the ideal time to put her three decades of industry experience into starting her own business, MJ’s Hair and Beauty.

As well as hairdressing, the salon’s six staff will offer manicures, spray tans, massages and a whole host of other beauty treatments which workers can take advantage of in their lunch hours.

Maxine said: “Having worked in city centre salons for such a long time, I knew that the time was right to start my own business. Working with my husband Carl we carried out a lot of research into whether the salon would work and put together our ideal mix of staff.

“We have already had a very encouraging number of bookings and enquiries which is a really promising start.”

South Wales law firm HardingEvans assisted Maxine and Carl with all the legal elements of their business.

Maxine said: “HardingEvans explained the processes and legalities to us, keeping us informed at all stages of the project. They helped no end, answering all our questions and helping us to work through the details of the lease with the landlord.”

Mike Jenkins, Commercial Partner at HardingEvans added: “Commercial leases can be extremely daunting, especially, if you haven’t had your own business before. We worked with Maxine and Carl to break down the impact the lease would have on cash flow and negotiated on their behalf for the landlord agreement.”

HardingEvans is one of south Wales’ most progressive law firms, offering a full range of legal services to businesses and individuals.
