Senior/Principal Planner – Kent

Posted on: 05/10/2021 ~

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Town Planner to join a close-knit team in their central Kent office. This firm are a multi-disciplinary consultancy with a good variety of work and plenty of autonomy, offering progression opportunities based on merit.

We are looking for candidates who are MRTPI qualified operating at Senior Planner level (although we would also consider candidates at Planner or junior Associate). We can consider candidates with a private sector or local government background but local experience (Kent/Southern Home Counties) is essential. You must also have a good grounding in development management and a sense of commerciality. The Directors are very approachable and have a collaborative approach to their work, and they are looking for someone with not only strong technical skills but who is also the right cultural fit. The team work on a mix of residential, mixed-use, rural, change of use and some commercial schemes and strategic sites, primarily for a range of developers, landowners and institutional clients who are primarily repeat clients/referrals.

Candidates will be rewarded with a competitive remuneration package and discretionary bonus, as well as plenty of responsibility and progression. A full-time appointment is our preference, but we could consider part-time/reduced working hours. This is a lovely firm with a really supportive environment; their staff genuinely really enjoy working here and they have very low staff turnover. There is also home-working and timetable flexibility, which was in place prior to COVID. The interview format will be relatively informal and will be a mutual opportunity to discuss the firm, the type of role that you are looking for and the benefits that come with joining this firm.

To confidentially apply for this role, please contact Katrina Wheadon ([email protected]). By clicking apply, please be assured that your CV will not be sent to the client until you have been fully briefed on the role and given permission for us to do so.

We are aware that some people can be dissuaded from applying for a job if their skills don’t match every requirement. If you are keen to confidentially discuss opportunities in Town Planning in Kent, please get in touch. We have a multitude of roles that you could be a good fit for!
