Principal or Associate Town Planner (Bristol)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a chartered town planner at Principal or Associate level to join one of the leading planning teams in Bristol. You will be joining a key name in the industry boasting a very well-established team working on some of the most exciting projects in the city. You will be based in the centre of Bristol and working in a busy, modern and open plan office.

We are looking for candidates who are MRTPI qualified and have substantial private sector experience, ideally gained in the Bristol market (we may consider relocators for candidates who have similar city centre regeneration experience in a consultancy environment). We can consider a strong senior planner for the right person or more likely an existing principal/associate/associate director. The team work on a range of projects including city centre regeneration schemes, commercial developments, sport/leisure, retail/mixed-use and residential projects. They also have clients in the public sector so can offer a varied and exciting portfolio of work with many of the city’s high profile schemes. Your role will include; site visits, site appraisals, feasibility studies, writing planning statements, preparing and submitting planning applications, S106 negotiations, project managing large, complex developments, mentoring junior staff, liaising with professional bodies and specialist consultants, appeals, business development and providing the high level of expert town planning advice and consultancy service expected from this team.

We are looking for candidates who have good experience of managing complex projects with a proven track record of fee earning and building/retaining a good client base. You should be able to cope with a fast-paced environment and varied portfolio. You should be confident in client facing situations and in your presentation skills, you should enjoy networking and a busy team environment. The team regular go to industry events and really encourage CPD and career progression.
