Planning Manager – Client Side – North West

A prestigious commercial developer in the North West has instructed Beach Baker to engage in a confidential search for a new Planning Manager. This organisation has an excellent reputation and offer the chance to work for a high quality brand.

You will be engaging with developments across the North of England on a varied portfolio including commercial, retail, leisure, mixed-use, regeneration and also some residential schemes. Your focus will be to help deliver sustainable development integral to the success of the Northern Powerhouse agenda.

Successful candidates are likely to be at Planner or Senior Planner level and will be either fully MRTPI qualified, or will be on the cusp of completing, ideally having attained such experience in either a commercial consultancy or with another developer. You will be well versed and have an excellent understanding of local planning policies. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to;

• Working closely with the land and development teams to identify sites with good planning potential;
• The assessing and reporting of any planning issues through the acquisition process;
• Preparing planning statements, feasibility studies and appraisals;
• Appointing and managing external consultancies through the planning application, S106 negotiations and appeal process;
• Liaise with various third parties such as local authority planning departments and other government agencies;
• Monitoring and discharging conditions;
• Providing in-house planning advice across the multidisciplinary office.
