Planning Consultant (Planner/Senior/Associate) – Wiltshire

A rare opportunity has arisen in a lovely part of the UK, for a chartered town planner to join an expanding multi-disciplinary consultancy. The office is based in Wiltshire and is also commutable from parts of Dorset and Hampshire. This firm are independently run and have a long-standing, excellent reputation in the area.

Working alongside other disciplines, planning sits within the development/professional team. We are looking for a chartered planner (MRTPI or MRICS P&D) who ideally has experience of working in a similar multi-disciplinary environment and who also has some consultancy experience. The firm prides itself on long-standing relationships with landowners, developers, local businesses, councils and wealthy estates. We are looking for individuals who are very client facing and who have experience of building and maintaining such relationships to uphold the strong reputation the firm have built over the years. Your role will involve servicing a portfolio of planning work including residential, rural, mixed-use and advising on strategic land promotion and option/promotion agreements.

In terms of experience, we are looking for planners who have a good understanding of local policies combined with a good grounding in development management led work. We can consider candidates from the Newly Qualified (Newly MRTPI) level to Associate level. For more experienced candidates you should be able to demonstrate your ability to partake in business development activities and have some good contacts in the area. All candidates should be confident in client facing situations, have strong report writing skills, an understanding of local policy, land values and local planning issues as well as working well as part of a team and managing their own workload.
