Aberdeen Standard welcomes world famous Taiwanese dumpling house to Covent Garden

The internationally-renowned Taiwanese dim sum restaurant chain Din Tai Fung will make its UK debut in London’s iconic Covent Garden later this year, with a 200-cover restaurant that will provide all-day dining.

The Taipei-based chain has signed a 25-year lease on 5-6 Henrietta Street in the heart of London’s Covent Garden with Aberdeen Standard Investments, represented by Nash Bond.

The restaurant chain has agreed a rent of £1.2m pa for the highly prominent 9,000 sq ft unit, which is arranged over the ground floor and basement.

Din Tai Fung, which was founded in 1958, specialises in traditional soup dumplings and noodles. The chain now has more than 140 locations around the world including in the US, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, China and Thailand.
