Two new Partners have joined Cushman & Wakefield to establish a specialist Capital Allowances service line in London.

Jeanette Edmiston and Patrick Knight join from Wandsworth Consulting which they established in 2014 after working with leading capital allowances providers for many years. Capital allowances are a very valuable means of saving tax when purchasing or investing in an asset. The allowances are given based on the value of fixtures in a building or the expenditure incurred.

Prior to Wandsworth Consulting, Edmiston spent 14 years working at Big Four accountancy firms and 15 years at large quantity surveying firms and niche CA consultancies. She was a founding member of the Property Tax Team at Deloitte and also head of the London Property Tax Team at KPMG. She was also a member of the consultation panel who discussed and helped HMRC formulate changes to the fixtures rules.

Knight has 10 years’ experience including working at leading boutique tax firms and large quantity surveying companies. He was an Assistant Head of Department for a leading international surveying practice and has managed capital allowances contracts for some of the largest property companies in the country.

Nic Wilkinson, Head of London Project Management & Consultancy, Cushman & Wakefield, said: “Jeanette and Patrick are standout advisors in this specialist area.
