A new director has been appointed at Pick Everard’s Leicester office to support its ambitious plans for 2017.

Aarti Raj has been with the industry-leading firm for two and a half years as an associate and is delighted to have been promoted to director of quantity surveying.

“Aarti has been a huge asset to Pick Everard, her hard work has been recognised throughout the business and I would like to congratulate her on her new appointment. I’m sure that her experience and dedication will play an important role in Pick Everard’s plans this year – and beyond,” said Duncan Green, managing partner at Pick Everard.

Aarti said: “I’m really pleased to have had my hard work and dedication recognised and I’m excited to face the challenges which lie ahead.”

As part of Pick Everard’s strategic expansion aims, the continuation of delivering high calibre projects and the development of existing client relationships, Aarti hopes to support the firm as it positions itself as the first choice property, construction and infrastructure consultancy.

Aarti continued: “I worked in Australia for eight years, where I was a member of the National Association of Women in Construction Queensland and I am keen to continue to inspire the next generation of women, encouraging more females to get into the construction industry.

“As a woman in a male dominated industry, I am particularly proud that I have been able to progress my career at the same time as bringing up a family and working full time. I hope that other women looking to get into the industry hear my story and realise that it is possible to do both.”

Aarti has also acted as a Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) assessor, supporting candidates through their professional training to gain their RICS qualifications.

“In my new role I will be focussing on contributing to the business’ growth and shaping the quantity surveying discipline,” Aarti added.

“I hope that I can play a part in meeting Pick Everard’s 2020 vision by working closely with the senior team and embracing opportunities along the way. I look forward to continuing to learn and work collaboratively to get the best results for our clients.”
