Fast expanding Bristol builders Helm Construction are celebrating winning the Small to Medium Business category of the South West Built Environment Awards 2016.

The awards were presented at a high profile dinner at the Bristol Marriott Hotel City Centre attended by more than four hundred leaders and innovators from across the construction sector.

Helm Construction Chief Executive Gary Sheppard said: “The South West Built Environment awards are aimed at improving the built environment across the community, values which we share and strive to meet on all our projects whether residential or commercial.

“As always this achievement was down to the entire team. We encourage an ethos of continual improvement throughout the company, which ensures business quality and service requirements are consistently identified and improved upon.

“There is also a philosophy of promotion from within and opportunities to learn new skills and techniques. This continual investment builds trust which is reflected in the work we carry out.”

The South West Built Environment title is the latest in a series of awards which Helm Construction has received.

The company was Highly Commended in the LABC Best Partnership with a Local Authority Building Control Category – for a series of collaborations with various councils including South Gloucestershire, BANES, Mendip, Somerset, North Somerset, Gloucester, Stroud and Bristol City Council.

The firm also enjoyed a successful foray into the Bristol Post and Bath Chronicle Apprentice Awards in 2015, where Helm Construction’s ambitious in-house training programme helped   secure Small Employer of the Year award.
