Leamington opticians sees bright future

A Leamington opticians has set its sights on further growth after completing a move to one of the town’s ‘prime retail locations’.

My Specs Direct originally opened three years ago on Park Street in Leamington and provided top quality frames and lenses at very competitive prices.

The company has grown ever since and has added sight testing to its range of services. It needed to move to a bigger, more visible location to sustain that progress.

That location was 53 Parade, the space previously occupied by high street optician Dollond & Aitchison, and after completing its move – with the help of commercial property experts Reeves & Partners – and transforming the internal appearance of the building, My Specs Direct recently opened its newest branch.

Amy Midwinter is the operations director of My Specs Direct – which also has two stores in London and one in Hertfordshire – and felt the space was just what the company needed.

She said: “We wanted to move to bigger premises with a prime retail location.

“This premises offered that and it was also set up for the way we wanted to use it given that it had the necessary partition wall in place due to the fact that the previous occupant was an optician.

“However, the inside of the building needed a complete revamp to bring it up-to-date and to the modern standards that we like all our stores to reach.

“It now looks fantastic and we are open and ready for business.

“Reeves & Partners were very efficient, helped us to get everything done and were great to work with.”

This is just one of a number of high-profile commercial properties available through Reeves & Partners and director Richard Pomfret is encouraged by the interest shown.

He said: “It is great to see a company like this doing so well amid all the doom and gloom surrounding the financial climate.

“This was a perfect fit for My Specs Direct but it also caught the eye of a number of interested parties.”
