Leading property consultancy JLL in Scotland has won Office Agency Team of the Year at the 2016 Scottish Property Awards, held in Glasgow (3 March).

JLL’s Scotland team, with offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow, beat off strong competition from CBRE, Cushman & Wakefield and Ryden to land top honours in the Office Agency Team category.

The 3rd annual Scottish Property Awards, which celebrates excellence in commercial property, revealed 18 winners across 16 categories.

The JLL office teams in Edinburgh and Glasgow played a significant role in a big year for the office markets, with Edinburgh experiencing its strongest take-up for fifteen years and take-up of Grade A office space in Glasgow’s city centre almost doubling year on year.

Grade A transactions across Edinburgh during 2015 amounted to 395,511 sq ft with JLL involved in 59 per cent of Grade A space transacted. The ‘hotspots’ in the market were in the sub 5,000 sq ft and above 30,000 sq ft size categories with the tech sector and finance sector being very active.

A total of 570,905 sq ft was transacted in Glasgow city centre, 15 per cent above the five-year average. JLL was involved in two of the biggest transactions – Weir Group taking 25,514 sq ft at 1 West Regent Street in January and Teleperformance Ltd acquiring 27,522 sq ft at Cuprum in April.

Cameron Stott, Director, Office Agency at JLL commented: “2015 was a fantastic year for the occupier markets in Edinburgh and Glasgow, and our teams at JLL had a large part to play in that success. This award is testament to the hard work of our colleagues and their commitment to delivering the very best service for our clients.”
