Cooke & Arkwright and Lambert Smith Hampton have secured Firstsource’s second Cardiff office at Oakleigh House, Park Place, as the company plans to expand after securing a new client contract with a global entertainment organisation. The new office is expected to allow for around 300 new jobs to be created.

The outsourcing company, which also has an office in Cardiff Bay, will take a lease for the 19,500 square feet of space across two floors for a contact centre. In recent months, the deal is one of the largest to be completed in the city following BBC at Central Square, Public Health Wales at Capital Quarter and Deloittes at Park Street.

Cooke & Arkwright and Lambert Smith Hampton acted jointly on behalf of Oakleigh House’s current tenant, loss adjuster Cunningham Lindsey, to sublet the space.

Ben Bolton, director at Cooke & Arkwright, said: “Our challenge when instructed 12 months ago was to let the space within a year, and I’m delighted to say we achieved this. We had to overcome a tight timescale for the new occupier to hit their contract deadlines whilst working within the existing lease structure.

“The property is a great fit for both occupiers, with the added benefit of an international company like Firstsource bringing numerous jobs to Cardiff.”

Kate Simpson, Associate Director at Lambert Smith Hampton, said: “Oakleigh House offers high quality office space in a prime location and with such a limited supply of current Grade A stock, this deal will put further pressure on the office market until new schemes come forward over the coming months. It is an excellent reflection on our capital when global firms such as Firstsource select Cardiff as a location for their company’s growth strategy, demonstrating their faith in the city and its workforce.”

Cunningham Lindsey was advised by Square Foot Consulting, who appointed both Cooke & Arkwright and Lambert Smith Hampton to sublet the property.
